MotoGP prepared for its final 2025 pre-season test on 12–13 February at Chang International Circuit. The ThaiGP test gave teams a last opportunity to evaluate bikes and components before deciding their race specifications.
On Tuesday, 11 February 2025, MotoGP riders and teams arrived at Chang International Circuit to set up their garages and prepare their bikes for two days of testing. Ducati's Marc Marquez and teammate Francesco Bagnaia were among the leading championship contenders attracting attention.
Yamaha's former world champion Fabio Quartararo continued working closely with his team after a test that showed development potential. Honda's Joan Mir also made progress, improving his Buriram test pace by 1.3 seconds compared with the previous year.
Riders inspecting the track included Maverick Vinales, Pedro Acosta, Alex Marquez, Franco Morbidelli and Johann Zarco. Alex Marquez had set the fastest time in the preceding test.
The rookie line-up included Somkiat Chantra, Thailand's first MotoGP rider, alongside Japan's Ai Ogura and Spain's Fermin Aldeguer. All three faced intensive work learning and adapting to their premier-class bikes.
Chotchanok Chidchob, Director of International Activities at Chang International Circuit, said the two-day pre-season test would give fans a rare opportunity to watch riders and teams work throughout the day and see technology not normally visible during a race weekend. Only a small number of circuits host official testing. Thailand would then stage the season-opening PT Grand Prix of Thailand two weeks later.
Race-ticket holders received complimentary pre-season test access, with every stand category eligible to use the Grandstand during testing. Separate test tickets cost THB 500 per day or THB 900 for both days. VIP test tickets cost THB 5,000 per day.
At the time of publication, tickets remained available through Counter Service All Ticket at 7-Eleven stores nationwide and online.
