Chang International Circuit and its partners organised a major festival to build excitement for ThaiGP, attract new fans and strengthen Thailand's place on the Grand Prix calendar.
Chang International Circuit joined PTG Energy, Chang natural mineral water, Honda, Yamaha and Ducati to stage MotoGP Fan Fest 2024: Road to PT Grand Prix of Thailand at Ja Phae Chon Kae on Ratchapruek Road in Bangkok. The event aimed to reach new fans and build excitement for ThaiGP on 25–27 October in Buriram.
More than 500 fans and media joined the event to watch and support their favourite riders at Spain's Aragon Grand Prix, Round 12, including Thailand's Somkiat Chantra. Prize draws offered paddock access, pit-walk passes, official ThaiGP collection merchandise and other souvenirs. BLACKHEAD, led by Pu Anon, also performed a live set of the band's hits.
Chotchanok Chidchob, Director of International Activities at Chang International Circuit, said Thailand's fifth MotoGP built on four successful editions. Grandstand tickets had sold out within minutes of release, while other stands and accommodation in Buriram and nearby provinces were also booked ahead of race weekend. He highlighted the blend of local culture, international sport and off-track activities, estimating annual economic activity of THB 4–5 billion from visitors, shopping, services and travel.
Organisers said the activity aimed to reach new fans and build anticipation for Thailand’s round, the 18th on that season’s calendar. They cited broadcasts in 207 countries and a worldwide audience of more than 800 million. Thai supporters were invited to cheer for Somkiat Chantra in his final home Moto2 race before moving to MotoGP, while highlighting the wider benefits of hosting the event.
Race tickets remained available through Counter Service All Ticket at 7-Eleven stores nationwide and online at allticket.com, with updates on the Chang Circuit Buriram Facebook page.
