OR Thailand Grand Prix 2023 opened with large crowds and cooperation across public and private organisations, combining racing with Thai food, culture, tourism and community life.
The OR Thailand Grand Prix 2023 took place on 27–29 October 2023 at Chang International Circuit in Buriram.
Qualifying began across all classes as tens of thousands of Thai and international fans arrived at the circuit throughout the day.
The organisers released images of fans enjoying a full programme on and off the track. Buriram emphasised community participation alongside operational improvements, aiming to make the event a shared source of pride for local people and the country.
The Queen Sirikit Department of Sericulture, Buriram Province and partner agencies created a visitor welcome area beside the circuit's Destination of Speed sign. The Silk of Buriram display introduced the full silk-making process and local textiles, including loincloths, sarongs, naturally dyed fabrics and the province's distinctive red-bordered silk. Demonstrations also featured foods made from sericulture products, such as basil-fried silkworm pupae and crispy mulberry leaves.
The day began with Hero Walk, giving fans the chance to meet riders, collect autographs and take photographs. Pit Lane Walk offered a closer look at the motorcycles, mechanics and teams at work. The activity area also hosted rider meet-and-greets, nine Muay Thai bouts and evening performances by Book Supakarn and Nescafe Sri Nakhon.
OR Thailand Grand Prix Expo brought together sponsor activities, major pavilions and more than 100 shops. Highlights included the OR Pavilion, motorcycle displays from Honda and Yamaha, and the Department of Land Transport's road-safety pavilion. Visitors could shop for MotoGP souvenirs, motorcycle accessories and motorsport products, join activities from public and private organisations, and meet world-class riders.
The Community Development Department's OTOP TO THE WORLD showcase brought premium products from more than 200 shops nationwide to the area behind Chang Arena. It promoted local materials, knowledge and craftsmanship while creating market opportunities and supporting producers' management and marketing skills.
